The Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because the Bible is inspired by God, it is infallible, inerrant, and absolute truth. Where it speaks we listen and obey as it serves as the final authority for all matters of faith and practice.

Proverbs 30:5-6 “Every word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.  Do not add to His words, or He will rebuke you and prove you are a liar.”

II Timothy 3:16-17  “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” See also:   Psalm 12:6; Psalm 119:105 & 160; II Timothy 1:13; II Peter 1:20-21

We believe in the Lord God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; the Almighty Creator of all things visible and invisible.

Genesis 1:1-2 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” James 2:19 “You believe that there is one God.  Good!  Even the demons believe that – and shudder.”

We believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, who shed His blood so that, through Him, we can have eternal life!

John 14:6 “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.” Colossians 1:15-20 “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For by him all things were created:  things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.  He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.  And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.  For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.”

Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, Who is an active and operative part of the triune God, who indwells every Christian for the purpose of leading, guiding and transforming us to be more like Jesus.
Acts 2:38 “…Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins.   And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 8:26-27 “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.  We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.  And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.”

We believe the Bible teaches that salvation and the forgiveness of sins is achieved by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ. One receives salvation by accepting God’s grace, putting faith in Christ, repenting of sin, confessing Christ as Lord, and being immersed in water into Christ. (but that none of these is sufficient in and of itself for the assurance of salvation).

Romans 10:9-10 “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

Acts 2:38 “Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”

Mark 16:16 “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”

The Church
The church is a congregation of the saved, whose main purpose is to save others.  When we are ‘in Christ’ (see The Plan of Salvation) we are in the Church, thus we are the Church.  Christ is the Head of the Church.
Ephesians 1:22-23“God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Following Jesus
Our goal is that every person will have the best possible relationship with Jesus.   We’re developing serving, training, learning and shepherding opportunities so believers can use their gifts, talents and passions to build up the kingdom and impact the world around them.

I Peter 2:1-2 “Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.  Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.” See also:  Psalm 111:10; Matthew 10:37-39; Hebrews 5:12-6:2; Ephesians 4:21-24

We believe the church should be leaving a lasting impact on its community and the world by telling others about Christ and showing others, through their actions, the love of God.

Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you…” See also:  Luke 19:10; Acts 2:45; Acts 1:8
